Standard 7 – My Day
I am Halfan Mbsumi a pupil in standard seven. I am a boy aged thirteen years who studies at KAG primary school. My day begins early in the morning. When I wake up at half past four I brush my teeth, take a shower then put on my school uniform.
After taking breakfast, I walk to school. A distance of approximately two kilometres. I am always punctual at school. When I get to class I do my own work or revise what the teachers taught us the previous day. When the lessons begin I am usually attentive in class and I usually make notes apart from the teacher’s.
During break I spend most of my time with friends or doing any teachers work. At lunch time I take my lunch which is prepared by our school matron. Her food is a mouth watering delicacy. The aroma usually makes my stomach rumble. I eat the food ravenously and later go to the field in order to have some exercise.
The game that I like is football. Football is a game that requires skills and techniques. It also makes me healthy. Pour games master told us that playing is healthy.
I then go back to class for my afternoon lessons which are mostly discussion. My classmates and I often discuss about several topics or most of the challenges in our daily lives. If one of us has encountered a problem we try to our level best to help him or her. When the lessons end we take our summary notes to our teacher who in turn corrects us if we are wrong or marks the work.
We later sweep the classroom and then go out to play at the field. We often play against the class six and eight. I then go to my club which is the environmental club. We clean the school compound and nature the seedlings.
When the evening preps begin I set up my mind back to class. The lessons go on until a quarter to seven o’clock. That is when we are released to go home from school. I walk back home with the moonlight being my only guide. At home I take a shower to refresh myself, the I take my dinner and later retire to bed.
