KAG Standard 6 – My Day
My name is Edwin Mogaka. I study at KAG School. I am a boy aged eleven years. Before I start my day, I must thank the Lord for keeping me alive.
I wake up at the crack of dawn. I prepare myself for school. I wear my iron-checked uniform. After that I leave home at six o’clock. I wait for the school bus for nearly half an hour. When the bus arrives, I board and I depart. On reaching school, my fellow pupils and I have a lot of activities to do. The activities include sweeping and collecting the rubbish around.
When we enter the class, we start our daily routine. On the timetable, the lesson start at eight o’clock. Each lesson takes a period of forty minutes. I enjoy the teaching by the way. We rest at ten o’clock. The break takes thirty minutes. By the time we enter in class, there are two lessons remaining to lunch time. Each lesson has its teachers.
Ring! Ring! Ring! It’s lunch time. Everybody rushes to the dining hall. We take lunch for fifteen minutes and other forty five minutes for resting while playing in the field. When the lunch time is over, everyone goes to his or her class. We stay in class for two hours and we go for games at four o’clock. The games we play are football, netball and hockey. We play the games for one hour. That is the time the lower section from Kg 1 to class five go home.
We go for two lessons in our respective classes. After two lesson, we rest for fifteen minutes then finally we wait for the last lesson. The last lesson starts from 6.00 to 6.45. It takes forty five minutes. At 6.45 the bus arrives and I leave school for home. When I arrive at home, I am very tired. I take a cold shower and have my supper. I do the homework if I have. I sleep at nine o’clock. That is how I spend my day at school.
